Best College Rankings to be Revealed September 9, 2015

According to a recent article by Robert Morse and Eric Brooks, the U.S. News and World Report will release its 2016 edition of the U.S. News Best Colleges rankings on Wednesday, September 9.

This is valuable information for prospective college students and their parents that are researching the best colleges that fit their needs.

The new rankings for National Universities, National Liberal Arts Colleges, Regional Universities, and Regional Colleges will be available and can be accessed on usnews.com.

The report will offer extensive statistical profiles for each college, a comprehensive college search, and detailed explanations of the ranking methodologies.

These exclusive rankings will also be published in the U.S. News and World Report’s Best Colleges of 2016 guidebook, which will go on sale September 29.

The rankings that will be released will have information including which colleges and universities are rated the highest by high school counselors from throughout the United States. It will also detail which colleges and universities have the greatest commitment to undergraduate teaching.

According to the article, the report will also include the following:

  • an annual ranking of historically black colleges
  • rankings of undergraduate business and engineering programs
  • A+ colleges for B students, which is a list of options for high school students who are applying to college, but do not have a 4.0 grade point average or above
  • a “paying for college” guide, which will provide important information on financial aid and the overall costs of college
  • a list of “best value” colleges, which is a ranking that will show college that offer the best value for students who are receiving need-based financial aid
  • a list of the top public colleges
  • a list of colleges whose students graduate with the most and/or least debt
  • Campus economic diversity
  • Campus ethnic diversity
  • a list of colleges that award the most merit aid
  • a list of colleges whose incoming freshman are most and least likely to return for their second year
  • a list of colleges that have the highest four-year graduation rates
