Student Profile: Hallee Haygood
Hallee Haygood graduated in 2014 from Vista Murrieta High School. Her passions are leadership and politics. She is currently majoring in Political Science and Ethics, and Public Policy with minors in Mass Communication and Rhetoric.
In high school she participated in ASB all four years holding several different leadership positions. She also served in leadership in Interact Club, the National Honor Society, and the Hospice Club.
While at Vista Murrieta, Hallee started a “Petals for Patients” outreach program for the Murrieta area. This nationwide program provides bouquets of flowers to terminally ill hospice patients with donated flowers and vases.
For her college experience, Hallee wanted to venture out of state. She visited the University of Iowa, and knew immediately that “she was home.” Hallee has been part of the University of Iowa’s Student Government since freshman year, and has been a senator for 2 years. She joined Alpha Chi Omega her freshman year, and currently serves as the New Member Educator on their Executive Board.
Hallee was selected to participate in the Honors Program and the highly selective President’s Leadership Society. She also enjoys being part of a business fraternity on campus, Dance Marathon leadership, and Hawkeyes for Hillary. We can’t wait to see where her political aspirations take her.
