Student Profiles: Jenna McKinnon and Emily McClay
Jenna McKinnon, an outstanding 2016 student from Vista Murrieta High School, gained acceptance to UCLA, the University of Michigan, and the University of Notre Dame where she will be attending this fall. In high school, Jenna founded the Junior Writers Club to encourage and instruct young writers. She also interned with Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez helping to represent the 67th district. Jenna is currently the captain of her school’s varsity tennis team and president of the VMHS National Honor Society. She also started her own business eight years ago taking care of pets for local senior citizens.
Emily McClay, an outstanding student from Great Oak High School, gained acceptance to Vanderbilt, Johns Hopkins, the University of Michigan and Purdue this year, and will be attending Vanderbilt in the fall. Emily interned with Abbott Vascular Laboratories as an Engineering Intern, and started an archery and environmental club at her school. She is also one of the top tennis players in Southern California.
When Emily was asked what she thought helped her with these highly selective schools, she credited Advanced College Solutions with making a difference with her college selection, application support, essay help and funding input.
