Student Profiles: Joel Reinecke and Crystal Lin
Joel Reinecke from Vista Murrieta High School was accepted Early Action to Harvard and regular admission into Stanford and Claremont McKenna. He is interested in the stock market and investing, and established a club to explore those interests at his school. Joel is the captain of the Speech and Debate Team and the Varsity Tennis Team at Vista Murrieta. He was also awarded the Rotary Youth Leadership Award and Boys’ State sponsored by the American Legion. Joel will be attending Stanford this fall.
Crystal Lin of Vista Murrieta High School was named one of this year’s Edison Scholars, winning a $40,000 scholarship from Edison International. Each year, Edison International awards 30 such scholarships to high school seniors across the state, to support their dreams of studying engineering, math, science or technology. With a 4,67 GPA and 12 Advanced Placement classes under her belt, Crystal was a shoo-in for the scholarship! She plans to study engineering and applied mathematics, and is currently deliberating between Cornell University and UC Berkeley.
What did both of these outstanding students have in common? They received coaching in all areas of the college process including strategizing activities and testing, application help, essay editing and completion of FAFSA and CSS Profile financial aid documentations.
